The central group from the ordination jubilee celebration in 1931

Detail from silver jubilee grouping

This image is an enlargement of the central group from the previous photograph, showing the sanctuary party in more detail. Fr Cheong is seated in the front row, centre, wearing a russet and gold cope, with a morse (clasp) featuring the crossed keys of St Peter; it had been brought back to St Peter's in 1925 by Canon Hughes and is still in use. On the right is Fr Maynard; the dalmatic he wears, and the tunicle worn by the subdeacon on the left, are both part of a high mass set made by the Montgomery sisters in 1917. In the row standing behind the seated clergy are two other clergy (?) wearing matching tapestry copes made in 1918 to be worn by cantors.
