Seminar 10:

Few things generate more passion than the songs we sing in church. The style and the quality of the music is now an important factor in many choosing which church to attend. Increasingly, older Christians feel alienated and marginalized by the content and style of singing in the church. "We've been robbed", said one couple to me recently. And then, to emphasize the depth of their pain, they added, "We haven't been to church all year". Many Christians, of all ages, are deeply attached to the songs they love. We should be concerned to make the singing that takes place in our church as vital and uplifting as possible. In this address we look both at what we sing and why we sing.
