Seminar 9:
Monastic Life as Lived –
One View

Tarrawarra Abbey is a community of Cistercian Monks in the Yarra Valley between Healsville and Yarra Glen. Br Bernard, guestmaster at the Abbey, will talk about the monastic life as he has experienced it. He has been taught how to live this life by the example and teaching of his brother monks and the engagement with the coalface of daily life. At best it's simple.

Date Thursday 25 September
Time 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm
Venue St Peter's Hall, Eastern Hill
Cost $15 (concession: $12)
Speaker Br Bernard Redden, OCSO
Br Bernard Redden joined the Cistercian Monks at Tarrawarra Abbey in 1976. His working life has revolved mostly around the monastery farm and the guesthouse. His prayer life has been shaped and supported by the common daily prayer of the monastery and his personal encounters with grace.
