Formal Guidelines from St Peter's Vestry
- Purpose. The St Peter's Eastern Hill e-mail list provides a regular newsletter that is designed to facilitate communication with people who are interested in the activities of St Peter's.
- Content. Messages posted on the list will relate only to the activities of St Peter's, and may include:
- Official statements from the vicar or vestry;
- Notices of special services, study groups, activities, and special events;
- Reports on events held at St Peter's;
- Links to material of particulat interest on other web sites.
- Submissions. The content of postings to the list is under the control of the vicar. The Office Administrator prepares newsletters according to the content guidelines, and is the only person authorized to post messages to the list. Anyone wishing to have material considered for inclusion should submit it to the Parish Office.
- Frequency. Newsletters will be issued approximately monthly, or as the occasion demands.
- Format. Messages may be posted in either "html" or "plain text" format so that they should be readable by all versions of most e-mail programs.
- Membership. Membership of the list is open to any person with an interest in the activities of St Peter's Eastern Hill. Membership remains under the control of the individual, and people can subscribe or unsubscribe at will.
- Confidentiality. List membership is completely confidential. No one other than the list administrator will have access to membership details or to e-mail addresses. In no circumstances will e-mail addresses be passed on to third parties. Only overall membership statistics will be available to vestry or other persons.
- Administration. Technical administration of the list is provided by an Administrator appointed by vestry. This person is responsible for the maintenance of the membership list and responds to subscription queries.
- Authorization. This e-mail newsletter is authorized by the vicar. Final responsibility for list maintenance and newsletter content remains with the vicar at all times.
